Training

At the Ford GTHO Lot 6 foundation we want to carry on the tradition of education in motorsport set lead by Henry Ford.

We aim to provide opportunities for young automotive mechanics and technicians from all over the world to complete a course of training that will qualify them for careers in Formula 1, V8 Supercar, NASCAR or Indy 500.

Education

Currently, no university or trade school in the world is equipped to provide a training program that will enable automotive technicians, mechanics and engineers with a full fledge teaching of the complete fundamentals and technical aspects of motor racing at its highest levels. The curriculum for the ‘Lot 6’ programs will be established by a series of meetings with Formula One, Nascar and Australia’s V8 Super Car teams, to determine their requirements and needs.

These meetings will be attended by Board Members of the ‘Lot 6’ Foundation, the Australian Government Department of Education and our partners at Kangan Institute and RMIT University. The curriculum will be updated on a yearly basis with meetings with all of our partners to keep up with the advanced technologies in the racing industry. The Foundation also hopes to offer a scholarship program to students who cannot afford the fees. The course will be open to students throughout the world.

The Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence is a state-of-the-art automotive training facility located in Melbourne’s Docklands.
